Prejudice won

translator = traitor when I read this equivalence, reported by Julius C. Lepschy translation in his article for the Encyclopedia Einaudi, I started to laugh. And yes I probably feel the same way a few years ago. Borges calls it an "Italian ruling," but I do not know who can have it delivered. I did a search on the Internet, useless. But I found a forum where participants interpret "traitor" as one who disseminates, which broadcasts in a language other a text from the Latin word "betray" storytelling, handed down. I am still of the opinion to give the term a negative meaning. What, however, this would be "treason"? There the perfect translation, it is a myth, because perfection is not of this earth. Then we must consider the class of translators dedicated to a task as lying?
From the moment I started to seriously deal with foreign languages \u200b\u200bI've always been taught, teachers in private and public schools, that one should not translate. Never translate! It was their obligation. And I made the most of this command without understanding why.
college I had to deal with my inadequacy and my embarrassment whenever it comes to translating texts from German and English. I did not have the necessary syntactic fluency, I stuck on any word, I did not see the need to transpose in a language I do not entirely familiar songs ripped away from novels by famous writers of my country. So my bias increased instead of decreasing and written examinations have given the bare minimum to not be rejected. I lacked knowledge and skill, in the end I had the misfortune not to explore a world that could become my second home. I have so much to
Dialogika Network srl. , a niche publishing house based in Prato, and the company tutor Margaret Percy who has chosen me as his trainee, with the task of translation from English to English Italian. I arrived that I was almost a fish out of water and went out determined to continue the work. I had the opportunity to face many types of text, read the translations of professional women, to correct, to translate for the English blog Fantechi Charlie, the director of Dialogika, and was an honor for me. I am proud to be part of a team, even if only for three short months. The prejudices of the past have become the desire to succeed in this field. I've fought and won my way through the challenges and a good deal of sacrifice. I recognize that the road is long and strewn with obstacles, and I'll have to change completely the approach to the study.
The "pun" translator = traitor resonates now as historical analysis, as an ironic play on words invented by the detractors of the translation, more numerous than in the past in the present and hope condemned to disappear in the future.
